CHAMPAIGN -- The University of
Illinois announced Friday that for the fourth straight year men's
basketball season tickets are sold out for the upcoming season. This
year, the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics used the waiting
list established two years ago to sell out the final season tickets
available.

"It is great that our fans are excited enough about our program to
sell out the season ticket packages again this season," Illinois
coach Bruce Weber said. "We appreciate everyone's support and
anticipation of this season, which promises to be another highly
competitive year. To keep the Assembly Hall as the best home court
in America, we need all the seats filled for every game. We have a
string of 45 consecutive sellouts entering this season. We all hope
to keep that streak alive throughout another season." Single-game
tickets for games not part of the student season ticket package will
be available to the general public beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. Those
games include exhibition games against Quincy (Oct. 31; 450 tickets)
and Kentucky Wesleyan (Nov. 6; 450 tickets) and regular-season games
against Northeastern (Nov. 11; 300 tickets), Weber State (Dec. 1;
200 tickets), Western Carolina (Dec. 17; 1,800 tickets), Miami of
Ohio (Dec. 20; 1,400 tickets), Loyola-Maryland (Dec. 28; 900
tickets) and Tennessee State (Dec. 30; 900 tickets).
The number of tickets available for single-game purchase is much
lower than past years, as more general public season tickets were
sold for the 2007-08 season. Tickets available for these games are
$22 each and can be purchased in person at the UI Athletics Ticket
Office at the Assembly Hall, online at
www.fightingillini.com,
or by phone at 217-333-3470 or 866-ILLINI-1.
