[September 04, 2007]  William Michael "Mike" Johnson, 53, of Lincoln died Aug. 26, 2007, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Mike Drake officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.

Mr. Johnson had been a salesman for many different companies.

He proudly served his country in the Army.

He was born April 6, 1954, in Lincoln to William "Bud" and Betty Dunham Johnson.

He is survived by his parents, of Lincoln; three sons, Ryann Johnson of Lincoln, Cole Johnson of Morton and Wesley Johnson of Morton; one sister, Marcia "Wilma" McDonald of Lincoln, and his maternal grandmother, Wilma Brown of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather and brother Gregory Johnson.

He was a member of Sweetwater Christian Church.

Mike was the family comedian, with more fire than anyone around him. He inherited the love of Western wear from his grandpa and had always looked up to him. Now they are wrangling together in the clouds forever, watching over us.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Christian Church.
