[September 06, 2007]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Byron R. Bahn, 75, of Chestnut died Thursday, Sept, 6, 2007, at 1 a.m. at his home.

There will be no visitation.

Private family services will be at a later date.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski is handling arrangements.

Mr. Bahn was a correctional officer at Logan Correctional Center before he retired.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

He was born Aug. 15, 1932, in Kenney to Edward Albert and Lydia Conner Bahn. He married Lois Faye Armstrong in Chestnut on April 2, 1961.

He is survived by his wife, of Chestnut; three daughters, Crystal Rae Holmes of Chestnut, Tina (and Shawn) Bahn-Dooling of Excelsior, Minn., and Deborah (and James) Matheny of Clinton; four brothers, Lloyd Bahn of Mount Pulaski, Vernell (and Dorothy) Bahn of Mount Pulaski, Verneil (and Kathryn) Bahn of Chestnut and Leland (and Wilma) Bahn of East Peoria; one sister, Erma Baker of Creve Coeur; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Albert; and one nephew, Austin.
