Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: I was driving down Kickapoo Street the other day
and noticed the new Salvation Army building. What I am wondering is
why it isn’t being used for the homeless or a woman’s shelter.
People have donated money so people can get help when times get
tough.
I talked to a lady that went in there to see about getting some
food and was turned down because it was not the right day to get
food and told to go somewhere else to get help.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT??? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE? I think that is
just WRONG. I think they need to review their policy and change it.
People need help today, not next week.
