Erma Irvin

[April 09, 2008]  ATLANTA -- Erma L. Irvin, 100, of Atlanta, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at 4:22 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service for Mrs. Irvin will be at a later date.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Irvin was a seamstress for many years in the Atlanta area.

She was born March 20, 1908, at Beason to John A. and Amelia Hoose Michaels. She married Wilbur Irvin on April 26, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1983.

She is survived by two nephews, Francis H. Michaels of McKinney, Texas, and Gerald Michaels of Waynesville; one niece, Virginia M. Walters of Bloomington; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Irvin was the oldest member and a lifelong member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church.

She graduated from LeRoy High School and Brown's Business College in Bloomington.

Memorials may be made to either the Humane Society of Logan County or McLean County Humane Society.
