[April 10, 2008]  ATLANTA -- Sarah T. Karrick, 83, of Atlanta, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 4:41 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Mrs. Karrick's funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Atlanta. The Rev. Rob Roy will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from noon to 2 p.m.

Burial will be in rural McLean, in Roaches Chapel Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.

She was born March 8, 1925, in Grenada, Miss., to Hugh C. and May Wells Tygrest.

She is survived by one daughter, Trish Horner of Bloomington; two sons, Tommy Joe "T.K." (and Charm) of Atlanta and Jason of Vandalia, Ohio; five grandchildren, Shelley (and Rod) Walters, Chad Horner, Jennie (and Mitch) Smith, Lane Karrick and Tanner Karrick; two great-grandchildren, Reed Walters and Brady Smith; one brother, Joe Tygrest of Apple Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Catherine Leuschner of Stuart, Fla., and Ann Shifflet of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews.

One sister and five brothers preceded her in death.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate and the Ronald McDonald House.
