Everett Bode

[April 21, 2008]  McLEAN -- Everett Bode, 91, of McLean, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at 5:55 a.m. at the home of his daughter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Following the visitation, there will be a rosary service at 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Bode will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta. The Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible will officiate.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.

Mr. Bode worked as a farmer and auto body mechanic.

He was born Feb. 22, 1917, in McLean to Peter Thomas and Clara Iffrig Bode. He married Marjorie E. Pfeifer on Nov. 14, 1945, in Lincoln. They had been married for 60 years when she preceded him in death on April 14, 2006.

He is survived by one daughter, Beverly (and E.J.) Spaulding of McLean; four grandchildren, Brian (and Jennifer) Spaulding of Bloomington, Kris (and Sue) Spaulding of Danvers, Brett (and Marie) Bode of Omaha, Neb., and Angie Bode (and fiancé Jake Topakas) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ally, Logan, Brady, Noah, Mary, Austin, Katie, Alaria, Bradyn and Kaiya.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Bode; one daughter, Bonnie Bode; and two brothers, Harold and Wilbert Bode.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta and the McLean County Antique Car Club.

He was a 1938 graduate of Atlanta High School.

Memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center in Normal or to BroMenn Healthcare Hospice Services.
