[August 01, 2008]  BLOOMINGTON -- On Thursday Lincoln's Senior Legion team lost to Watseka 5-4 and then to Danville 12-2 and were eliminated in the American Legion division tournament. This was second consecutive year Lincoln had earned the right to participate at the division level.

The first game was a heartbreaker as Lincoln had several opportunities to gain the advantage, only to come up just short of its goal. In the second game, Lincoln held a 2-0 lead through five innings against a very talented Danville team. Danville's bats came alive in the sixth and Lincoln was unable to respond. Even though Danville rolled to victory, the Lincoln team fought hard until the last run scored.
