[August 04, 2008]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Dorothy Schott Carter, 83, of Mount Pulaski, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at 12:40 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Kevin Treptow and Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter was a homemaker.

She was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Caruthersville, Mo., to Max E. and Liddie P. Coble Dickson. She married Wade H. Schott Jr. in Hernando, Miss., on May 6, 1943, and he died May 12, 1982. She married Wesley L. Carter in Mount Pulaski on June 5, 2004. He survives.

Other survivors are one son, Wade H. (and Marcelline) Schott of Weldon Springs, Mo.; one daughter, JoAnn (and L. Dale) Southerland of Cambridge, Minn.; two brothers, James Dickson of Tamarac, Fla., and Bob Dickson of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Mount Pulaski United Methodist Church
