ATLANTA -- Jon James Liesman, 34, of
Atlanta, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at 11:59 p.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Atlanta Christian
Church, with Maurice Stribling and the Rev. Dennis Smith
officiating. |
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta and one hour
prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Burial will be in Roaches Chapel Cemetery, rural
McLean.
Mr. Liesman was employed at Firestone Tire
Manufacturing.
He was born Feb. 8, 1974, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his father, Larry M. (and Mary
Sue) Liesman of Atlanta; his mother, Donna L. (and
Mark) Vieth of Le Mesa, N.M.; his paternal
grandmother, Mary Liesman of Atlanta; his maternal
grandmother, Mary Vieth of Lincoln; one sister,
Staci (and Jeff) Thommes of Farmington, Minn.; two
stepsisters, Diana (and Kevin) Parkhouse of El Paso
and Hayley (and Jordan) Sax of Normal; one niece,
Ali Thommes; one nephew, Rylan Thommes; one
stepniece, MaKenna Parkhouse; and one stepnephew,
Nick Parkhouse.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers,
Merle Liesman and Robert Vieth.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Lincoln.
He graduated from Olympia High School and from
Black Hawk College in Kewanee with a degree in
agriculture production. |
Jon will be remembered for his carefree spirit,
sweet smile and fun-loving personality. He enjoyed
being outdoors, hunting, fishing and working on the
family farm. Jon lived life to the fullest and will
be missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad
or the Atlanta Fire Department.
