Stephen Vannoy, 59, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. |
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at
Atlanta Cemetery, Atlanta, with the Rev. Larry
Crawford officiating. A memorial
service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Open Arms Christian
Fellowship in Lincoln.

Mr. Vannoy retired from Pinnacle Country Club in
Rogers, Ark., where he worked as a mechanic. He was
previously employed at Lincoln College as head
groundskeeper until 2004.
He was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his
country in the U.S. Navy.
He was born June 29, 1949, in Atlanta to Harold
M. and Budella Bradway Vannoy. He married Joyce
Dugan on Feb. 26, 1972, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; three
sons, Terry Treakle of Lincoln, Bill (and Jeanne)
Treakle of Lincoln and Bruce (and Sue) Treakle of
Atlanta; one daughter, Rhonda (and Glenn) Gillum of Lincoln; two
brothers, Jerry Adams of Atlanta and Larry (and
Karen) Vannoy of Atlanta; seven granddaughters; six
grandsons, 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous
nieces and nephews. |
He was preceded in death by his parents, two
brothers, one sister, one daughter, one
granddaughter and two grandsons.
