[December 05, 2008]  ATLANTA -- Thelma Louise Matthews, 59, of Atlanta died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at 4:42 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at noon Saturday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, with the Rev. Rob Roy officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Mrs. Matthew was employed as bus aide for the Olympia School District for the past eight years and was a cashier at the Dixie in McLean.

She was born March 26, 1949, in rural McLean to Artie A. and Augusta G. "Babe" Hawkey Horath. She married Robert "Bob" Matthews on Jan. 18, 1975, in Atlanta.

She is survived by one daughter, Melissa (and Jack) Stiles of Atlanta; one son, Adam Matthews (and Jenny Whiteside) of Bloomington; one sister, Lena (and Chuck) Newman of Delavan; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

She graduated from Atlanta High School.
