Angels win 1st game, Preachers fall to Saints

[December 10, 2008]  The Lincoln Christian College men's and women's basketball teams had games with Central Christian College of the Bible at Moberly, Mo., on Tuesday evening.

It was the first game of the season for the Angels, who won 67-63.

LCC was led by Jessica Blythe with 23 points, three rebounds and one assist; Becky Sobkoviak with 20 points, 17 rebounds and one assist; Kim Kersey with 13 points and 12 rebounds; and Jessica Schmidgall with four points, four rebounds and six assists.

The Angels (1-8) will resume play at the beginning of the new semester when they travel to Westminster College on Jan. 7.

The Preachers dropped their game 88-66.

The Preachers (3-6) were led by Matt Searby with 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists; Jon Wallace with 15 points, 13 rebounds and one assist; and Landan Callahan with 11 points.

LCC outrebounded CCCB 36 to 35.

The Preachers will next see action on Dec. 17 at Judson College.
