[December 15, 2008]  In a home game Saturday afternoon, the Lincoln College Lynx defeated Lincoln Land 72-55.

CivicLincoln College coach Kirk Whiteman's synopsis of the game:

"This was a tale of two halves. We had a two-point lead at halftime 23-21. We didn't do a very good job in the first half with our post play, although you have to give credit to Lincoln Land as they play extremely hard and physical. We tried to simulate what they do, in practice, but our kids didn't figure that out until they got into the game and got knocked around for a while.

"We really challenged Chris Ware at halftime and he responded great, picking up some big baskets for us. Our guards Farmer, Augusta and Adams did a great job of pushing the ball more in the second half to create some transition buckets for us. We were able to get a couple big shots out of Darius Adams and Colby Johnson also. I was really proud of how our guys stepped up on the defensive end tonight to battle a very well-coached, physical team.

"Darius Adams led the Lynx with 22 points, 11-14 from the free-throw line, and Colby Johnson knocked in 15 points."

The Lynx are now 8-6 (1-0). Their next game is at Danville on Wednesday.

Lincoln Land falls to 9-3 (0-1).
