Donald 'Berdell' Fulk

[February 14, 2008]  McLEAN -- Donald "Berdell" Fulk, 94, of McLean, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at 7:20 a.m. at Asta Healthcare Center in Bloomington.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of McLean. The Rev. Andy Maxwell will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Burial will be in McLean Cemetery, rural McLean.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta is handling arrangements.

Mr. Fulk and his wife farmed around the McLean area most of their lives. 

He was born Aug. 21, 1913, in Armington, to Albert and Hattie Rhodes Fulk. He married Jennie Mae Ward on Dec. 11, 1937, in Peoria. They celebrated 70 years of marriage last year.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Janet (and Cecil) Carpenter of Minier and Jean Courtney of Chatham; one sister, Mary Ellen (and Ralph) Cogan of Nevada; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

One brother, two sisters and one son, Roger, preceded him in death.

Mr. Fulk was a member of the United Methodist Church of McLean and the McLean County Farm Bureau.

He was an avid Cubs fan. 

He graduated from Atlanta High School in 1932. 

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of McLean, Mount Hope Ambulance or an organization of the donor's choice.
