[February 22, 2008]  ATLANTA -- Kay Frances Thaxton, 54, of Atlanta, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at 6:07 a.m. in the emergency room at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. Sunday at the Assembly of God church in Minier. Her funeral will follow at 7 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Herlin R. Summers officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Lincoln, to James and Geneva Martin Swille. She married Charles David Thaxton on Feb. 15, 1974, in Atlanta.

She is survived by her husband, David; her two daughters, Holly Kay (and Ryan) Riggleman of Lincoln and Mindy Sue Thaxton of Atlanta; one brother, Dan Swille of Chillicothe; and three grandchildren, Christian Anderson, Sydney Anderson and Kayla Riggleman. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a very active member of Minier Assembly of God church, where she served as the nursery coordinator.

She and her husband were also foster parents with the Department of Children and Family Services.

She graduated from Lincoln Community High School. 

Memorials may be made to the Minier Assembly of God for a memorial fund.
