Letters to the Editor

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

(Response to Motivating Parents to Combat Childhood Obesity)

To the editor:

Here in England there is constant debate about overweight children. Trouble is, mothers will drive their children instead of walking them. When I was 4 1/2 (in 1940), I used to walk well over a mile to school, and from the age of 6 I went on my own. It wasn't till I was 11 that I cycled to senior school every day.

I live 30 miles from our Lincoln.
