Mary 'Kaye' Chere

[January 03, 2008]  Mary "Kaye" Chere of Lincoln died Dec. 28, 2007, at home with her family.  

A memorial service will be scheduled later.  

Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Ms. Chere was a supervisor at Lincoln Developmental Center for 13 years.

She was born Sept. 20, 1948, in Middletown to Norman Russell and Margaret Louise Scholties Chere.

She is survived by two sisters, Norma Chere of Lincoln and Myra Chere of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Virginia Chere of Lincoln; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dan Chere.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

She loved embroidery work and was an avid Cubs fan.

Her childlike sense of humor will be missed and remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. John's Breadline, Springfield; St. John's Hospital, Springfield; or the American Heart Association.
