Presidential Preference General Primary Election Notice

[January 09, 2008]  Notice is hereby given that on Feb. 5, 2008, at the following polling places in the county of Logan and state of Illinois, a presidential preference general primary election will be held for the purpose of electing individuals to the following offices:

• Delegates and alternate delegates

• Precinct committeemen

And for the purposes of nominating individuals to the following offices:

• President of the United States

• U.S. Senate

• Representative in Congress

• State senators (44th and 50th districts)

• Representatives in the General Assembly (87th and 100th districts)

• Circuit clerk

• State's attorney

• Coroner

• County board

• Resident circuit judge

• Circuit judge

Local propositions or referendums will be held in the following jurisdictions:

• Athens Library District

The colors of ballots to be used by the respective precincts at the presidential preference general primary election will be as follows:

• Republican Party -- yellow

• Democratic Party -- green

• Green Party -- gray

The polls for said presidential preference general primary election will be open continuously from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 5.
