Lady Griffins Defeat Angels

[January 21, 2008]  The Lady Griffins from Fontbonne University defeated the Angels of Lincoln Christian College 70-45 at the Laughlin Center Saturday. Lincoln fell behind quickly in the game and trailed 40-15 at the half as they were only able to shoot 27.3 percent to the Lady Griffins' 44.1 percent. Fontbonne went to the bench early in the second half as both teams scored 30 points.

Tasha Brown recorded a double-double for the Angels with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jessica Blythe had eight points, and Bobbie Larson had seven points and six rebounds. Fontbonne was led by Michelle Reale with 15 points, Kathryn Kirby added 12, and Kristen Chamberlain had 11 and Lauren Crane 10. Chamberlain also led the team with 12 rebounds.

The Angels are now 1-14 for the season and travel to Dubuque, Iowa, on Monday to take on Emmaus Bible College.
