[January 25, 2008]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Irene Wachter Volle, 88, formerly of Latham, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at 4 a.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Bill Shanle officiating.

Burial will be in Lake Bank Cemetery, rural Mount Pulaski.

Mrs. Volle was a homemaker.

She was born July 24, 1919, in Latham to Frank and Winnie Beck Wachter. She married Kermit E. Volle in Latham on June 19, 1941. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1999.

She is survived by one son, Steven (and Linda) Volle of Oreana; one daughter, Cheryl (and Jerry) Lynch of Mount Pulaski; five grandchildren, Brian (Tessa) Volle of Oreana, Andrea (Scott) Woodruff of Oreana, Michael (Jody) Lynch of Pinkneyville, Shantel (Kevin) High of Chatham and Christy (Bill) Brewer of Chatham; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Pope.

She was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church, the Ladies Aid Society and was also a Sunday school teacher and played the piano at Copeland Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to Vonderlieth Living Center or Mount Pulaski Christian Church.
