Letters of Support

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Response to Questioned Campaign Contribution

To the editor:

Mr. Carlo Jiannoni sent me a $500 check from Afghanistan, where he was serving his country.

I disagree with Mr. Patterson that I was under some obligation to return this contribution (letter). Accepting the donation was legal and completely ethical.

Mr. Jiannoni was not sanctioned in any manner for any alleged misconduct.

I want to restore family values to the office of the state's attorney. As a man of family values, I believe in grace, mercy and redemption.

Michael McIntosh
