[July 01, 2008]  OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Christine Magnuson has earned her first trip to the Olympics, rallying to win the 100-meter butterfly at the U.S. swimming trials.

The 22-year-old Magnuson was third at the turn as Rachel Komisarz pushed the pace, flipping just five-hundredths off the world record pace. But the 31-year-old Komisarz faded on the sprint for home, and Magnuson rallied to win in 58.11 seconds.

Elaine Breeden took second in 58.21 and also is likely to land a spot on the team that heads to Beijing. Komisarz, who won two medals at the 2004 Athens Games, was third in 58.36.
