[July 01, 2008]  OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Brendan Hansen is heading to his second straight Olympics with a win in the 100-meter breaststroke, but his time in the final of the U.S. swimming trials fell far short of his own world record.

Hansen, who won three medals at the Athens Games, was more than three-tenths off record pace at the turn, and he couldn't make up the gap. He did win the race, holding off Mark Gangloff with a time of 59.93, well off the mark of 59.13 he set nearly two years ago.

Gangloff took the likely second spot on the Olympic team in 1:00.42.
