[July 01, 2008]  EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Hazel Clark-Riley, Alice Schmidt and Nicole Teter have qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in the women's 800 meters.

Teter finished fourth at U.S. Olympic trials Monday, but made the team instead of third-place finisher Kameisha Bennett, because Teter had run a qualifying time of 2 minutes and Bennett hadn't.

Teter and Bennett both were involved in a collision that sent them tumbling to the track in semifinals Saturday. Neither finished in the top four in their heat, but race officials gave them a second chance and advanced them to the final, which included 12 runners.
