Christian Village vs. Burgrabe's ends in tie

[July 03, 2008]  In a hard-fought game, Christian Village and the Burgrabe Legal Eagles battled back and forth to an 11-11 tie in a rain-shortened contest at Breezy Field in Lincoln.

Christian Village opened the game with two runs in the first on four hits. The Eagles battled back with six runs on five hits. Christian Village responded with six runs in the second on three hits. The Eagles were held to one run on three hits in the bottom of the second. Christian Village was then held scoreless in the third, and the Eagles took the lead in the bottom of the third with two runs on three hits. In the final inning as the rain fell, Christian Village scored three runs in the fourth on two hits. The Eagles battled back with two runs in the bottom of the inning and a third runner out at the plate, ending the game in a tie.

Starting pitcher Reilly Gallagher (3-1-1) fanned nine in the contest. Gallagher was 4-4, including a double and two RBIs. Heather Payne was 3-3 and had two RBIs. McKenzie O'Donohue was 2-3 with double and an RBI. Kimberly Rhoades was 2-4; Danielle Burgrabe was 1-1 with two RBIs; Heather Curry was 1-3 with two RBIs; Jazzminn Morecraft was 1-3 with one RBI; and Mikaela Meagher chipped in an RBI.

The Eagles are now 4-5-1 on the season.
