John 'Chuck' Lumley

John C. "Chuck" Lumley, 79, of Lincoln,
died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 8:43 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A prayer service
will follow at 7 p.m. |
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy
Family Church, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor
officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery.
Mr. Lumley was a structural iron worker for the
Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater
Chicago.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was born Sept. 3, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa,
to John A. and Nancy Smith Lumley. He married
Margaret Irene Brown on Sept. 10, 1948, in Hartford.
He is survived by his wife, Irene, of Lincoln;
one son, Robert C. (and Joyce) Lumley of Oswego; one
daughter, Vivalea (and Gregory) Wotell of Ypsilanti,
Mich.; one sister, Louise (and Norbert) Hunn of
Sparta, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in
death. |
He was a member of Holy Family Church and American
Legion Post 263.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
