Earl Merriman

[July 24, 2008]  MIDDLETOWN -- Earl Dean Merriman, 47, of Middletown, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at his home.

His funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church of Middletown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mr. Merriman was in the carnival business all of his life and was the fourth generation of his family in carnival concessions.

He was born July 23, 1960, in Lincoln to Edward and Carolyn Cory Merriman. He married Melissa Arnold on Feb. 7, 2004.

He is survived by his mother, of New Holland; his wife, of Middletown; two daughters, Candice Fisher of Clinton and Jessica Eairheart of Middletown; three sons, Jason Arnold of Middletown, Brent (and Ashley) Eairheart of Lincoln and Bradley Eairheart of Middletown; two brothers, David (and Sharon) Merriman of Port Solerno, Fla., and Tim (and Kathy) Merriman of New Holland; seven grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Tyler, Shannon, Shandice, Rayvon and Jeidyn; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his oldest nephew, James "Boo" Merriman.

Funeral Directors

He was a member of the International Independent Showman's Association in Gibsonton, Fla.
