Robert Kuhlmann

[June 20, 2008]  ATLANTA -- Robert A. Kuhlmann, 70, of Atlanta, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at 6:27 a.m. at his home in rural Atlanta.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kuhlmann retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2001. He had been employed at the Logan Correctional Center and previously was an officer with the Melrose Park Police.

He served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer.

Robert Allen Kuhlmann was born March 24, 1938, at Blaine Ramsey Hospital in Chicago to Reinhold and Anita Weiss Kuhlmann. He married Margo Ann McKenna on April 7, 1962, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Melrose Park.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years; his mother, Anita Kuhlmann of Cedar Park, Texas; one daughter, Lisa Anne Kuhlmann of Atlanta; one son, Jeffrey Allen (and Julie) Kuhlmann of Fithian; two sisters, Jeanne Calvi of Point Venture, Texas, and Winifred (and Peter) Latzke of Addison; and three grandsons, Tyler, Trace and Trey Kuhlmann, all of Fithian.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reinhold Kuhlmann, and one brother, Ronald Kuhlmann.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

He loved the outdoors and crappie fishing with friends.

Bob lived life always looking forward to tomorrow. His children are proud to call him Dad and his wife loved him dearly. His family and friends will remember him forever.
