LOS ANGELES (AP)
--
Mark Buehrle pitched eight solid innings, Jermaine Dye hit a two-run homer, and the Chicago White Sox snapped a nine-game road losing streak with a 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.

Nick Swisher hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the first inning, Orlando Cabrera singled home a run in the second and that was all Buehrle (5-6) needed. The left-hander allowed a run and six hits.
Derek Lowe (5-7) allowed five runs and nine hits over 7 1-3 innings and had a season-high eight strikeouts in a matchup of pitchers who have thrown no-hitters, started All-Star games for the American League, and won World Series rings with teams that are known by the color of their Sox.
It was the first time Lowe and Buehrle have started against each other in the big leagues.
Second baseman Alexei Ramirez helped out Buehrle with a defensive gem in the sixth. He raced out to shallow center field and made a sliding catch Jeff Kent's Texas Leaguer, then threw to first to double off Matt Kemp for an inning-ending double play.
The time of game was 2 hours and 5 minutes. Seven of the 13 games Buehrle has started this season have been played in under 2:30.
The only reason this one went as long as it did was because of Chicago's four-run eighth inning. Lowe retired 13 in a row before Carlos Quentin singled with one out and Dye followed with a drive to right-center on the right-hander's 99th pitch for his 17th homer and a 4-1 lead. Rookie Cory Wade then gave up an RBI triple to DeWayne Wise and a run-scoring single by Alexei Ramirez.
Delwyn Young got the Dodgers on the board with a solo homer in the fifth, his first since last year's season finale.

Notes: Chicago 3B Joe Crede was a late scratch because of stiffness in his lower back. ... The Dodgers and White Sox are scheduled to share a new spring training camp next year in Glendale, Ariz., if it's completed on time. "I think it's a great idea," Chicago manager Ozzie Guillen said. "They're going to have a new facility for the first time after all those years in Vero Beach, and they've got a lot of great (former) players that are always around. So the young players with the White Sox will have a chance to see all the old-timers and be able to hang around with them. It's going to be a great experience for us." ... Dodgers 3B coach Larry Bowa was pitching batting practice when Guillen emerged from the tunnel leading to the visiting clubhouse and hollered at him: "Hey, throw strikes!" ... Buehrle fanned pinch-hitter Mark Sweeney in the eighth for his 1,000th career strikeout. ... The White Sox have a major league-best 285 interleague home runs since 1997.
