Burgrabe's Legal Eagles vs. Christian Village and Mason City

[June 26, 2008]  Christian Village knocked off Burgrabe's Legal Eagles 14-9 in Lincoln in the first game Wednesday night in Mustang League play. The Eagles fell behind early and were never able to get within striking distance.

Alexis Van Hook, Mikayla Smith and Kimberly Rhoades shared the load on the mound for the Eagles.

Heather Curry had a single and a three-run homer, with four RBIs total. Van Hook was also perfect at the plate, with a triple and two singles, as was Jazzminn Morecraft, who had two singles and an RBI. Danielle Burgrabe banged out two hits and had an RBI. Reilly Gallagher, Emily Payne, McKenzie O'Donohue and Rhoades also had one hit each for the Eagles.

Burgrabe's Legal Eagles fell 14-13 at home against Mason City in the second game of the doubleheader Wednesday night.

Heather Curry made her pitching debut and was effective in the strike zone, allowing only eight walks and forcing Mason City to put the ball in play. After a late six-run rally brought the Eagles within one, Curry quickly struck out two and got a putout to keep the Eagles close. The Eagles were unable to capitalize and went down without a runner to end the game.

Alexis Van Hook was perfect at the plate, 2-2 with three RBIs, as was Danielle Burgrabe, 1-1 and an RBI. Jazzminn Morecraft banged out two hits; Reilly Gallagher had a double and two RBIs; Curry, Kimberly Rhoades, Mikayla Smith, McKenzie O'Donohue and Kylee Foster each had an RBI; and Mikaela Meagher had two RBIs.

The Eagles are now 3-5 on the season.
