Catharine Zook

[March 20, 2008]  BEASON -- Catharine Elizabeth Zook, 87, of Beason, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 12:45 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

A memorial service for Mrs. Zook will be at 3 p.m. Monday at The Christian Village Congregate Building, 1500 Seventh St. in Lincoln. Ryan Edgecombe will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason, at a later date.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Mrs. Zook was a homemaker.

She was born May 31, 1920, in Payson to Charles and Edith Lasley. Her first marriage was to Lewis Feuquay, and he preceded her in death . Her second marriage was to Loyd O. Weller, who also preceded her in death. She married Howard Zook on Dec. 26, 1992, at the Beason Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, of Beason; one daughter, Karin Varner of Mesa City, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Sheri Brumbaugh of Seattle, Wash., and Amy Zook of Urbana; one granddaughter, Ka Lee Pasek of Knoxford, Calif.; one grandson, Steven Pasek of London, England; one stepgranddaughter, Emilie Brumbaugh of Seattle, Wash.; and one brother, William "Bill" Lasley of Clinton, Wash.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Hines and Fran Heavner.

She was a member of the Beason United Methodist Church, Peoria Eastern Star and Peoria American Business Women's Association. She was also a member and past president of the Peoria Legion Auxiliary and Peoria 8 & 40.

Memorials may be made for The Christian Village Congregate Building.
