Gilbert Farrell

[March 24, 2008]  Gilbert E. Farrell, 90, of Lincoln died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 2:35 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Ray Pepples officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Two Mile Grove Cemetery, rural Latham.

Mr. Farrell was retired assistant vice president of data processing of the Commerce Bank of Clayton, Mo., and retired security guard in the computer department of Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo.

He was born May 17, 1917, at Clay City to Richard and Grace Wattles Farrell. He married Ruth Lee on Aug. 1, 1937, in Hartsburg.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one son, Gilbert L. (and Ruth) Farrell of Rector, Ark.; one daughter, Diana Yokley of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Jennifer Embry of Arizona, William (and April) Yokley of O'Fallon, Mo., Debbie (and Lonnie) Storie of Arkansas, Steve Kelly of St. Charles, Mo., and Robert Kelly of Arkansas; eight great-grandchildren, Austin and Ryan Yokley, Issac, Rachel and Jessica Lampkin, Michael Farrell, Nick Farrell and David Edward Farrell; a sister-in-law, Sister Marie Lee of St. Louis, Mo.; an aunt, Isabel Kirby of Florissant, Mo; and many nieces and nephews.

One son, David Lee Farrell, preceded him in death.

He was a former deacon at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, First Presbyterian Church of Florissant, Mo., and First Presbyterian Church of Cedar Hill, Mo.

He appreciated his long friendship with Tracy James.

He was a loving husband to his wife and a loving father and grandfather.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Mo.
