[March 27, 2008]  PETERSBURG -- John Joseph Spinner, 61, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 6:29 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A service will follow at 7 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Curry officiating.

Mr. Spinner was a retired technician from Lincoln Developmental Center.

He was born April 4, 1946, in Pana to John Frank and Margaret Jaschke Spinner. He married Diana Cline on May 13, 1994, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Petersburg; 12 children, John J. (and Megan) Scribner of Decatur, Pam J. (and Chad) Haynes of Assumption, Jill (and Randy) Cohan of Moweaqua, Samuel J. Spinner of Springfield, Frank J. (and Cari) Spinner of Mason City, Melissa (and Duane) McPherson of Petersburg, Keith (and Christine) Munson of Springfield, Nathaniel Griesbaum of Springfield, Isaac Griesbaum of Petersburg, Joseph (and Brandy) Fox of Lincoln, Andrew Fox of Lincoln and Andrea Faye (and Eric) Damaron of Kentucky; one sister, Mary M. (and Gerald) Jones of Delavan; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one niece, Michelle Fox of Lincoln; and three great-nephews, Chase Griffin, Tyler Griffin and Seth Fox, all of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one stepson.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He loved fishing and the mountains, and he loved his kids.
