Ruth Hubrich

[May 07, 2008]  WAYNESVILLE -- Ruth L. Hubrich, 79, of Waynesville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dave Taylor of the Waynesville Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Hubrich was a cook at the Lincoln Hotel for many years and later cooked for several other places.

She was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Cook County to Gerald F. and Louise Fleming Balster. She married Allen Hubrich on Nov. 2, 1954, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death in May of 1988.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald "Chug" Hubrich of Lincoln and James (and wife Laury) Hubrich of Waynesville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a collector of decorative plates, cups and saucers, but was the most fond of her family.
