Betty Field

[May 13, 2008]  Betty L. Field, 78, of Lincoln, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at 6 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. James O. Cravens officiating.

Inurnment in the church columbarium will follow the service.

There is no visitation.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Field was a homemaker.

She was born April 5, 1930, in Lincoln to D.H. and Bertha Wiggers Bauer. She married Robert L. Field on Sept. 11, 1949, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; three daughters, Jean Ann (and Roger) Morgenstern of Champaign, Janice Lee (and Bill) Dickerson of Lincoln and Susan Lynn (and Steve) Fuhrer of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Keith (and Meghan) Morgenstern of Alexandria, Va., and Lindsay Morgenstern of Champaign; three stepgrandchildren, Kelli Fuhrer and Christy Fuhrer, both of Chatham, and Phyllis Heleniak of Gilberts; one great-grandson, Sean Morgenstern of Alexandria, Va.; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Director

She was a very active member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Lincoln and was the first female senior warden at the church. She was a former president of Lincoln Emblem Club.

Betty loved her cats, enjoyed gardening and was an avid bridge player.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln or the Humane Society of Logan County.
