Wilbur West

[May 16, 2008]  Wilbur G. West, 59, of Lincoln died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 5:25 p.m. He collapsed while mowing the lawn at his home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Oscar Owens officiating.

Burial will be Zion Cemetery.

Mr. West was a foundry worker for Caterpillar Tractor Co., Mapleton, where he worked for 30 years.

He was born Aug. 1, 1948, at Litchfield, Ky., to Sherman and Ora Ree Kiper West Sr.

He is survived by two sons, Tony (and Rachel) West of Lincoln and Michael Shane West of Atlanta; one daughter, Wendy West of Atlanta; three brothers, Sherman (and Joan) West of Lincoln, Ellis West of Lincoln and Roger West of Iowa; three sisters, Anna Franciskovich of Lincoln, Barbara Rankin of Iowa and Elizabeth (and Andy) Hernandez of Gridley; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmy and Charles West.

Funeral Director

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

His favorite hobby was collecting cars.

Memorials may be made to Logan-Mason Rehabilitation Center.
