Lohse, Pujols help Cardinals beat Astros 3-2

[May 30, 2008]  ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Kyle Lohse carried a shutout into the seventh inning and Albert Pujols homered to cap a 6-for-10 series, helping the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Houston Astros and nemesis Roy Oswalt 3-2 on Thursday night.

Chris Duncan has a two-run single with the bases loaded in the first inning for the Cardinals.

Oswalt (4-5) allowed three runs in seven innings, losing to the Cardinals for the first time in 11 starts dating to Sept. 27, 2005.

Lohse (5-2) opened with six scoreless innings before Carlos Lee homered to cut the gap to 3-1.

Lance Berkman hit his 17th homer leading off the ninth against Ryan Franklin to cut the gap to a run before Franklin retired the next three in order for his fourth save in six chances.
