The Lincoln Christian College
Angels, champions of the NCCAA Midwest Regional Division II,
garnered many individual awards this weekend.
Named to the all-region team and eligible to be named as
all-Americans are Adriane Tschantz, Jessica Schroeder, Jamie
McFadden and Megan Donnelly. Named to the all-tournament team were
Most Valuable Player Megan Donnelly, Krystine Schnautz and Nicki
Wingfield. Newcomer of the Region is Schnautz, and the Midwest Coach
of the Year is Jason Farr. |
Before the Angels go to the national finals in Omaha next week, they
will be in action Tuesday evening, when seniors Jessica Schroeder
and Jessica Bunting will be honored. The Angels will host
Hannibal-LaGrange, a team they lost to in the first match of the
season in five games. Coach Farr is encouraging all students to
attend and take part in a student contest at center court between
the second and third game of the evening. Several high school
recruits will be present for what Farr is calling a "huge night."
Commenting on the regional tournament, Farr said: "The team played
so well together that I did not have to call a single timeout during
either of the matches. I really hope that we will be able to pack
the gym Tuesday evening to show our support to the team for all of
the hard work they put in to accomplish what they have so far this
season."
