Frank Dobrovolc

[November 10, 2008]  ELKHART -- Frank Dobrovolc, 93, of Elkhart, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at 5:58 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

A memorial service for Mr. Dobrovolc will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Robert Twist will officiate. Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.

Mr. Dobrovolc had worked for the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Waukegan to John and Mary Dobrovolc. He married Mayme E. Rantala in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 31, 1942. She preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2008.

He is survived by one daughter, Gail (and Bruce) Clark of Elkhart; two grandsons, Keith A. (Lisa) Clark of Chicago and Brian A. Clark of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, John Dobrovolc, and four sisters, Mary Andres, Angela Korenchan, Stephanie Dobrovolc and Frances Johnson.

He was a member of Moose Lodge and SNPJ, the Slovene National Benefit Society.

Memorials may be made to Elkhart Christian Church or Elkhart Library.
