Everett 'Butch' Cook Jr.

[November 12, 2008]  Everett L. "Butch" Cook Jr., 67, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at 10:45 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Dustin Fulton officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski, at a later date.

Mr. Cook retired from management at Caterpillar in East Peoria.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Decatur to Everett and Esther Rosteck Cook. He married Sandra Thompson on Dec. 23, 1959, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; five sisters, Sandra Warmoth of Cartersville, Ga., Pat (and William) Slayton of Lincoln, Charlene (and Dennis) Jordan of Conway, Ark., Karen (and Paul) Hays of Kingman, Ariz., and Tammy (and Jim) Boose of Argenta.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Stacy S. Cook; and one sister, Shirley Ann Napier.

He was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church, American Legion Post 263 and Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

Funeral Director

Butch was an avid golfer and loved woodworking.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson Street Christian Church.
