Lincoln 76, Northern Iowa Community College 74

Comments: "Lincoln was leading at the half 41-29 and had a about a 16-point lead through the middle of the second half. You have to give NICC credit as they went on a great run to go up six with a couple minutes left. The Lynx were able to go up two with 20 seconds left. However, NICC hit two free throws with five seconds left. We were able to get a timeout to set up a play. NICC came out in a full-court man. As the inbounds pass was thrown to half court, a NICC defender was able to tip the ball towards their basket; however, Cortez Augusta was able to get the tipped pass, and with all of their defenders in full-court man, Cortez dribbled in from half court for an uncontested (shot), scoring a layup as time ran out.

"Cortez Augusta played his best game of the year for us and hopefully will continue to get better.  Bryce Davis played a nice game for us tonight (10 points). Chris Ware is now back in full action after having knee surgery last month, and we are looking forward to playing him into shape over the next couple weeks as we get ready for conference play.  Darius Adams was able to hit a couple big shots down the stretch to get us back in the game, and he ended up with 21."

Lincoln 64, Southeastern Iowa 84

Lincoln moves to 5-5 on the season, as Southeastern Iowa moves to 12-0.

Comments: "We ran into a buzz saw tonight. With about five minutes left in the first half, we were down 32-31, but SCC finished out the half with a 11-2 run. We were not able to battle back and while we outrebounded them 39-38 for the game, their pressure defense caused us 19 turnovers, and they were able to capitalize off these turnovers for 22 points.

"Don Gavin scored 14 points. Chris Ware got his first start of the year and was able to chip in 13 points and seven rebounds, while Colby Johnson had 10 points and was the game's leading rebounder with eight."

Next game: Wednesday at Lincoln Trail
