Flossie Hutchison

[October 21, 2008]  Flossie M. Hutchison, 90, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.

She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Lincoln Developmental Center for many years.

She was born Oct. 30, 1917, in Grantsburg to Charles and Dora Shelton Mathis.

She is survived by three daughters, Elaine (and Robert) Franklin of Lincoln; Judy Klopp of Lincoln and Mignon (and Maurice) Hamrick of Rockford; one son, Charles (and Ruth) Hutchison of Collinsville, Okla.; two brothers, Clifton Mathis and P.D. Mathis, both of Vienna; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers Victor Mathis, George Mathis and William Mathis, and sisters Mabel Ruble and Vida Mathis.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Heart Association in Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maple Ridge Care Centre Activity Department and will be accepted at the funeral home.
