Virginia Williams

[October 29, 2008]  Virginia L. Williams, 75, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at 3:37 a.m. at her home.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams taught in Lincoln Elementary School District 27 for 35 years and previously for three years in Mattoon.

She was born June 14, 1933, in Mattoon to Donald and Lucille Liggett Taylor. She married Wilbur Williams on June 26, 1955, at Oblong.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; two sons, Donald (and Marla) Williams of Lincoln and Ronald Williams of Lincoln; one daughter, Lesliea (and James) Palmer of Mount Zion; one sister, Donna (and Byron) Winn of Fort Collins, Colo.; and six grandchildren, Amy Williams of Springfield, Ryan Williams of Lincoln, Valorie (and James) Litton of Indianapolis, Ind., Doug Palmer of Newman, Drue Palmer of Newman and Sommer Williams of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Director

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.

Mrs. Williams collected old ivory china.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln or Memorial Home Services Hospice.
