[October 31, 2008]  In an effort to encourage attendance at the Senior Feast offered by the Lincoln Jaycees on Nov. 15, Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois is offering rides to the event.

Offering rides for this special day will be a wonderful opportunity for seniors to get out, socialize and enjoy a festive meal. The event will take place at the Masonic Temple, located at 2022 N. Kickapoo St., from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Civic"We are always happy to collaborate with community events to ensure that seniors can participate, regardless of transportation barriers," said Angie Jenkins, director of senior programs for Community Action.

Seniors interested in a ride should make a reservation by Nov. 10 by calling 217-732-2159, ext. 240.

Community Action Senior Transportation provides rides for seniors 60 years or better Monday through Friday to promote independent living.

Community Action serves low-income individuals and seniors in six central Illinois counties. For more information, visit www.capcil.org.
