[September 04, 2008]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Mary L. Ayers, 75, of Mount Pulaski, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Bill Shanle officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Ayers was a volunteer EMT for 13 years and worked part time for Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

She was born April 12, 1933, in Birkbeck to Lewis Wilson and Mildred Luella Preston Fields. She married William Robert Ayers in Mount Pulaski on April 2, 1954.

She is survived by her husband, of Mount Pulaski; one son, Danny (and Jodie) Ayers of Mount Pulaski; one daughter, Janice Stewart of Lincoln; one brother, Earl (and Marlene) Fields of Waynesville; four sisters, Verna (Pete) Friedmansky of Lexington, Nellie Nelson of Clinton, Sara Campbell of Clinton and Dorotha Terrell of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeffrey Ayers; and three brothers.

Funeral Director

She was affiliated with the Christian church.

She bowled for 50 years and was a die-hard Cubs fan.

Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski EMS.
