Betty Morecraft

[September 04, 2008]  Betty J. Morecraft, 76, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at 11:15 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 7 p.m., with Napoleon Bonaparte officiating.

Cremation rites will follow the funeral service.

Mrs. Morecraft worked as the produce manager at IGA and later in the pharmacy at Wal-Mart.

She was born in Stark, Fla., on Aug. 3, 1932. She was raised by Willis and Marie Dial, her aunt and uncle. She married James "Buck" Morecraft on May 30, 1966. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2001.

She is survived by her children, Richard (and Julie) Morecraft of Key West, Fla., Dave (and Verna) Morecraft of Gardner, Jim (and Barb) Morecraft of Atlanta, Ga., Donna (and Karl) Amidon of Downers Grove, Gary (and Cindy) Baggett of Joliet, Glenda (and Fred) Babcock of Titusville, Fla., Jeff (and Tina) Baggett of El Paso and Michael (and Stephanie) Morecraft of Lincoln; 19 grandchildren, including Jazzminn and Tanner Morecraft, with whom she made her home; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her four sisters.
