Danny Yagow

[September 08, 2008]  BEASON -- Danny R. Yagow, 57, of Beason, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at 9:12 a.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church Education Building in Lincoln.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mr. Yagow farmed in Chester and East Lincoln townships of Logan County.

He was born Oct. 26, 1950, in Lincoln to Raymond A. and Edna A. Stuemke Yagow. He married Donna J. Schick on Nov. 30, 1974, in Mount Pulaski.

He is survived by his wife, of Beason; his parents, of Mount Pulaski; one son, Chad (and Tina) Yagow of Kewanee; one daughter, Katie (and Scott) Duvall of St. Joseph; one brother, Eugene (and Carol) Yagow of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Kay (and Jim) Jacobson of The Villages, Fla., and Gloria (and Ray) Morrow of Mount Pulaski; one granddaughter, Abigail Yagow; and one grandson, Logan Yagow.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln, where he was a former elder and treasurer. He was also a member of Logan County Farm Bureau, 4-H Foundation and the Ag Committee.

He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1968. He was a state recipient of Future Farmers of America honors.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
