Paul 'Bud' McEntire

[April 04, 2009]  Paul W. "Bud" McEntire, 88, of Lincoln, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at the Christian Nursing Home, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating.

Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton.

He was born July 10, 1920, in Athens, Pa., to John and Lilly McEntire. He married Lea Helton on Feb. 2, 1946.

Mr. McEntire is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons, Ronald (and Terri) McEntire of Lincoln and Allen (and Linda) McEntire of Sebring, Fla.; one daughter, Susan (and Don) DeJaynes of Lincoln; three grandsons, Shawn (and Kristen) Fitzpatrick of Roselle, Johnny McEntire of Sebring, Fla., and David (and Melanie) McEntire of Lincoln; one granddaughter, Carie (and Perry) Groves of Lincoln; and seven great-grandchildren, Alexis and Isabella Groves of Lincoln, Justin, Alex and Emma Fitzpatrick of Roselle, and Halie and Siera McEntire of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, John, Randall and Wayne McEntire.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 263.

Memorial donations may be made to the Christian Nursing Home or to an organization of the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
