The Oasis,
Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is
open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center
also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic
Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan
County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The
Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced

Caregivers' delight
Come to a special session in the continuing "Healthy Cooking"
mini-seminar series at the senior center. Circle April 16, and the
time is 10 a.m. There is no cost for the session. Please call for a
reservation so you can have plenty of goodies. The presentation is
facilitated by Rebecca Van Nydeggen.
Extension to sponsor bingo
The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor the bingo games on
Thursday, April 16, beginning at 1 p.m. at the senior center.
Alzheimer's support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet Thursday, April 16,
beginning at 1 p.m. The group provides support and information for
caregivers and extended family and is facilitated by a coordinator
from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Memories class
The Memories class will meet on Thursday, April 16, beginning at
3:45 p.m. in the senior center's library. Participants are asked to
bring their own pen and paper to learn skills needed to preserve
memories for families and friends.
Oasis board meeting
The Oasis board of directors will meet Thursday, April 16,
beginning at 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. To schedule
any agenda items, the board must receive notification in writing on
or before the fifth day of the month prior to a meeting date.
Blood pressure checking
The Oasis offers free blood pressure checks every Friday
between 10 and 11:30 a.m. No reservation is necessary.

April's birthdays
Birthday time! April birthdays will be celebrated at The Oasis on
Monday, April 20, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday's lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for April 21 will feature chili, corn dog,
muffin and dessert for a suggested donation of $3.75. If you stay to
play cards, the cost is $3.25. The reservation deadline is noon
Monday.
Card winners
Winners for weekday pinochle were Linda Hughes and Jean Cypher.
Weekend pinochle winners were Joyce Voyles and Wilbur Wilmert. The
winner for five-in-one was Betty Burger.
Senior Bowl winners
Winners at the Senior Bowl Fun Day at Logan Lanes were Pat
Berger, high game; Karen Newhouse and Albertine McGee, low game; and
Georgina Tisdale, most improved.
